This lightweight 3-layer 30K / 30K waterproof / breathable shell features 20D Nylon stretch fabric that allows for unimpeded movement while riding and ease of layering over armor.
Seal out the weather by tightening the adjustable elastic cuffs and drawcord hem. To combat the flap often associated with lightweight materials at higher speeds, cinch up the anti-flap adjustment hidden in the chest pocket.
It also boasts a removable, single-adjust hood. Remove the hood when riding, or wear it under your helmet on nasty days for even more coverage. When not in use, the Barfly stuffs into its chest pocket to easily stash away until you need it.
Even fair-weather trips have their moments; bring along some reassurance with the Barfly Microshell Jacket and matching Barfly Overpant.
Our apparel is designed to fit true to size over body armor - no need to size up; we've done the math for you.

The Barfly is the perfect way to add waterproof protection and extend the performance range of our Jerseys and Surveyor Jacket.
Love this jacket, but first a note on sizing. I’m 6’-5”, 230lbs, 36/37 sleeve, 43”chest, 36/38 waist, and 36” inseam. The XL fit but didn’t have as much room as I’d like, returned it and got the 2XL. Fits great with room to layer. Biceps flap a bit so some straps/adjusters there would be great. I bought Nike arm bands to solve for this.
It’s light, it breathes and it sheds water. I wore it off the bike in driving rain yesterday from hurricane Helene and stayed dry (I now need the pants). The pull cord adjustments are fantastic. I thought that the lack of hand pockets would be a problem but with a thin jacket like this, stuff in pockets gets odd. I’m now a fan of not having them.
Funny thing. I’ve been looking for a jacket for hiking and walking around. I may end up with a second jacket for that as the offerings I’m finding are almost $200 and aren’t as good as this.
Improvements: bicep adjusters, and some different color choices would be great (grey, red, olive).
Buy it you won’t regret it.
Worn it in the rain twice. Keeps me dry. Well made.
I rode this on a multi day trip in Vermont and it was perfect. It was light enough to wear in the humid heat to keep mosquitos at bay during camp, and I was in a torrential rain storm on the highway with colder temps and it kept me totally dry and comfortable. I'm doing the NEBDR in a couple weeks and will likely take this with my jackaloft and some base layers instead of my heavy duty jacket for temps in the low 40's at night, warming up to mid 60's in the day. Should be fine for chilly mornings and it won't take up room on the back of the bike when temps climb in the late morning. Fits really great over armor too! I am 6', 185 and L is roomy but perfect. If you were to get their heated jacket or the jackaloft (haven't tried mine yet so just guessing), I don't see any reason why this wouldn't work for late fall in New England or other chilly climates. It's a must have in my book.
