The Bates Mototel
MOSKO’S FREE BACKYARD MOTO CAMP
THE BATES MOTOTEL INFO
The Bates Mototel is Mosko’s free backyard camp for moto travelers, open during the riding season (roughly May to September), and available by reservation. Conveniently situated between the ends of the Washington and Oregon Backcountry Discovery Routes, the Bates provides an amenity-filled stop for travelers tackling both BDRs; or, for riders on one of the two BDRs, it serves as a great start or end point.
CAMPING
The Bates provides moto travelers with 14 moto-only tent sites, many of which offer shade and privacy. Camp sites are situated just outside the main camp, with a gravel lot provided for motorcycle parking.
ON-SITE COMFORTS
While staying at the Bates, travelers enjoy a shower with hot water, potable water, an outdoor grill and stove, a charging station for phones and cameras, a porta-potty outhouse, and a canvas tent lounge for shelter from the elements.
LOCAL AMENITIES
Five miles away, in White Salmon, WA, you’ll find access to Mosko’s headquarters and showroom (open Mon - Fri), a grocery store, an auto parts store, a hardware store, a coffee shop, a brewery, and several great restaurants.
You can also access a KTM and Honda dealership (Fun Country, The Dalles, 20 miles away), a Yamaha dealership (Mid Columbia Motorsports in Hood River, 8 miles away), and a BMW dealership (BMW of Western Oregon in Portland, about an hour and fifteen minutes from the Bates).
AVAILABLE BY RESERVATION ONLY
The Bates is available on a first-come basis, and does fill up during peak riding season. Reach out to book your time at the Bates when you’re planning your next BDR trip.
