DESIGN

The body fabric of the Basilisk IR Pant is a highly abrasion-resistant eVent® Expedition 3-layer, using eVent's proprietary Direct Venting™ technology. Heat and water vapor move directly through the air-permeable membrane, allowing your body to breathe freely and stay comfortable. With a 30,000mm rating on the water column (100 feet of water pressure), an MVTR of 10,000 g/m/d, .06cfm air permeability, and DWR coating, this pant is focused on keeping you dry when riding in wet conditions. Double external storm flaps and internal guttered construction provide additional weather resistance while maintaining ventilation.

The Basilisk IR Pant features integrated RHEON™ LABS body armor, helping the pant remain breathable yet protected in a wide range of conditions on extended trips. At its core, RHEON™ is an energy-absorbing superpolymer. Soft and flexible in its natural state, it intelligently stiffens when subjected to force. Made to feel invisible, its designed to flex to the curvature of the body for an adaptive fit.

What makes RHEON™ different is its patented algorithmic design and 3D printing process. The combination makes it both lighter, and more protective. The unique cell packing allows for better impact absorption while allowing air to flow naturally around the rider, making RHEON™ Armor the most breathable protection on the market.

The knees feature added Super Fabric® ceramic platelets on a 600D waterproof/breathable overlay for added strength and durability. With double-layer fabric, you can crash repeatedly and still stay dry. Our zippers are top-of-the-line water-resistant YKK VISLON® AquaGuard®: they won’t clog with dust and grime and are easy to operate one-handed with gloves. Two cargo pockets on the upper thigh keep your essentials close at hand or provide quick stash options when off the bike.

To help keep you cool, there are six vents: two knee scoop vents, two fold-back thigh vents, and two large exhaust vents behind the leg. Open all the vents in hot weather and let the cooler outside air envelop your upper thigh.

On the inside, we eliminated hanging liners entirely, reducing weight, bulk, and heat. Laminated patches protect the tricot lining in high abrasion areas like the knees and lower leg. The leg openings are cut extra wide to allow for plenty of room to fiddle with and adjust your boots. And they’re adjustable, too, with waterproof internal gussets and overlapping Velcro flaps.

Almost a Unicorn

I was looking for the perfect dual sport adventure motorcycle pant: lightweight, protective offroad and on asphalt, good ventilation but also waterproof, comfortable, and on top of all that good looking without 6 different colored fabrics.

The Basilisk IR pants come close. The thigh venting is genius. Plenty of airflow into the upper 80's. After that, well hot is hot and you need to deal with it. They are waterproof in my environment in Colorado. Mostly dry with lots with localized rain showers this time of year.

Sizing is a little off. I wear 32x32 in almost everything. These are a bit loose in the waist with no way to cinch them up without a belt and a little short while riding on the bike. Armor sits perfectly at my knee without any adjustment so I don't really mind. The extra room in the waist is good for wearing jeans underneath on cold mornings.

Riding while sitting and standing on my Tenere 700 is really comfortable with no seams or irritating hotspots. I find the thigh pockets to be really useful while riding.

Maybe not THE unicorn, but as close as I could find available right now. I wish I had these on my last BDR ride!

Amazing quality, and the waterproofing is a lifesaver

I've got the full Basilisk IR suit, and put it through the paces on a recent trip up into the Black Hills to attend Sturgis and then over into the Badlands. The travel there was of course predominantly on paved roads, but I rode a lot of fire roads and some doubletrack once up there while looking for campsites. The whole suit was very comfortable and kept me protected from dust, rocks, and even some pretty heavy rain at one point. I got caught out in a thunderstorm on the ride home with no good place to stop safely for about 30 miles, and being kept dry and warm by my gear definitely helped me keep all my focus on riding safely through those conditions.

The ventilation was also fantastic, as it made the suit much more versatile for different temperatures. When it does get too hot for a jacket, though, I can also highly recommend the Workhorse Jersey, which fits perfectly over my Fox armor.

Thanks Mosko for such well-designed products!

Best pants for serious ADV

Been loving these pants. At first I was concerned about how warm they would be since they are waterproof but they are extremely breathable. The venting placement was well thought out. The pants are super durable and yet they are very comfortable and not stiff. I’ve washed them twice already and they feel even nicer. The armor that come in the pants feel like they are in the correct spot. One thing to keep in mind with sizing: I normally wear 38 but when I received them they felt way to big so I exchanged for 36 and they fit a little loose in he waist which surprised me. Absolutely best pants I’ve had and can’t wait for bad weather just so I can enjoy being dry! Great job Mosko!!!

Big Pants, Big Adventure

I recently got my hands on the Mosko Moto Basilisk IR Pant and I have to say, they're pretty impressive. The material feels durable and well-made, perfect for our full-time ride across the American West where you need reliable gear. The waterproofing holds up great, and I didn't feel a hint of moisture even during the heavy downpours.

One thing to note, though – I had to swap out my usual size 32 for a smaller size. They ran a bit big on me, so going down a size made for a much better fit. Once I got that sorted, they were super comfortable and allowed for plenty of movement. Overall, I'd definitely recommend these pants for any serious rider.
