Basilisk Jacket

The Basilisk Jacket is our waterproof / breathable enduro-touring kit for long-distance, multi-day trips through primarily off-road terrain. It combines high-performance materials with clean lines and minimalist design. With an articulated fit for freedom of motion and easy layering, the Basilisk is designed to work with separate armor systems for superior protection and better versatility. It packs smaller than a traditional ADV jacket for stashing on your bike when things get hot.

The Basilisk is incredibly waterproof and incredibly breathable. The body fabric is a highly abrasion-resistant eVent Expedition 3-layer, using eVent's proprietary Direct Venting™ technology. Heat and water vapor move directly through the air-permeable membrane, allowing your body to breathe freely and stay comfortable. With a 30,000mm on the water column (100 feet of water pressure), an MVTR of 10,000 g/m/d, .06cfm air permeability, and DWR to keep you dry in wet conditions. It's the only air-permeable riding jacket we have come across, and it has the highest waterproof ratings we've ever seen. We added storm flaps to all external zippers to improve the Basilisk 2.0’s ability to shed water. In high abrasion areas like the shoulders, back, and elbows, we added Super Fabric® ceramic platelets on a 600D waterproof/breathable overlay for added strength. With double-layer fabric, you can crash repeatedly and still stay dry. Our zippers are top-of-the-line water-repellent YKK Vislon Aquaguard: they won't clog with dust and grime and are easy to operate one-handed with gloves. There are two external hand pockets and two chest pockets. (One external, one internal), with six substantial vents placed strategically for maximum airflow. On the inside, we eliminated hanging liners entirely, reducing weight, bulk, and heat. In high abrasion areas like the shoulders and elbows, laminated patches protect the tricot lining.
The Basilisk jacket is designed to work with separate body armor for extended enduro-touring trips. This offers better protection and makes it a more versatile jacket across the wide range of conditions you experience on extended trips. If you've never used separate body armor, here are the reasons we love it:

  • Temperature Management: Riding hard in a hot climate with separate armor, you can remove your jacket without losing your protection. On a hot day riding offroad in the desert, taking your jacket off is a game-changer. This is particularly valuable when moving slower through challenging terrain with limited airflow.
  • Impact Protection: Separate armor has better coverage and holds the pads closer to your body, so they're exactly where they need to be in a crash. Armor pads suspended loosely in the hanging liner of a motorcycle jacket are insufficient for riding off-road, where crashes are more common.

The jacket that accomplishes its mission with the least features is best. That's the Basilisk. It's light, nimble, waterproof, and breathable, with only the pockets and vents you need and nothing else.

100% Waterproof

DV Expedition, eVent's burliest waterproof membrane, provides the ultimate in durability and all-weather protection. Delivering dry comfort in the widest range of conditions and providing the greatest waterproof protection without sacrificing air permeability. At its best when the conditions are at their worst.

SuperFabric® Abrasion Panels

SuperFabric® is created by taking a 600d polyester base fabric and infusing tiny hard guard plates into the fabric. These guard plates have small gaps between each plate, keeping the SuperFabric® flexible for maximum comfort and protection.

Awesome Jacket

Jacket is awesome, much lighter than old leather jacket that was using. I feel that the features are worth the cost compared to some other jackets. Put off on buying one for a while to get this and it certainly doesn’t disappoint. Ample pockets for storage, quality/build materials are awesome. Still fairly chilly in Michigan so have yet to try the ventilation, but there are multiple vents so it seems that breathability would be good also when it gets warmer. Overall glad I waited to get this jacket and looking forward to riding with it more.

Perfekt jacket.. keeps dry even with a completely day riding on the highway while it's raining.. also not to cold. And of course nice style.

Best jacket ever!

I bought the Basilisk jacket in winter and tested it for the first time under demanding conditions this weekend. I was at an enduro training at the Enduro Center Mammut. It hailed and rained from above, and we rode through countless puddles from below. The jacket didn't let a single drop through and fit perfectly. Two participants were so impressed with my jacket that they had to try it on during the break! Dear Mosko-Moto Team: You have brought an excellent product to the market - I am very satisfied - thank you for that.

Quality stuff, nice fit. My only two cents are- odd zipper side, shallow breast pocket and pricing.
