The Woodsman IR Over-The-Boot Pant is an armored softshell pant for enduro and adventure riding. Based on our team favorite in-the-boot Woodsman Pant, we added over-the-boot functionality with extended full-grain leather panels on the inside of the knee, leg, and Velcro adjustable hem.

In this latest design, we added RHEON™ integrated removable armor to the knees and hips, achieving a CE Level-2 rating for impact protection with a CE AA-rating for abrasion protection. The hybrid design combines a premium 3-Layer Schoeller® waterproof / breathable material for protection from wet brush, wet seats, and water crossings, with a new 4-way stretch Nylon Oxford material for increased comfort and breathability for the demands of technical riding. These versatile pants are just at home on a damp woods singletrack ride as in the open desert and extended ADV trip.

Consider pairing with our Basilisk IR Jacket, Rak Jacket, or Surveyor Jacket.

This will be the final production run for this product. We do not have a restock date for 2026.

DESIGN

We re-engineered our In-The-Boot Woodsman and added integrated removable RHEON™ LABS armor and Over-The-Boot functionality, with full-grain leather panels on the inside of the knee, leg, and Velcro adjustable hem.

The Woodsman takes design inspiration from ski touring and alpine gear. The first thing you’ll notice is that it’s ‘stretchy.’ Not just in a few small panels but everywhere. To complement the stretchiness, we articulated the patterns for athletic riding and for alternating between a seated and standing riding position. The Woodsman pants are comfortable enough that minimalists can use them as their only pair of pants on a multi-day trip. They work on and off the bike, around the fire, and out for a beer. Dust and dirt are the only things that will give them away as riding pants.

The Woodsman IR OTB features integrated RHEON™ LABS CE-Level 2 body armor, adding integrated impact protection in the knees and hips. At its core, RHEON™ is an energy-absorbing superpolymer. Soft and flexible in its natural state, it intelligently stiffens when subjected to force. Made to feel invisible, its designed to flex to the curvature of the body for an adaptive fit. This gives RHEON™ Armor impact protection exactly where it’s needed, while maintaining total comfort. What makes RHEON™ different is its patented algorithmic design and 3D printing process. The combination makes it both lighter, and more protective. The unique cell packing allows for better impact absorption while allowing air to flow naturally around the rider, making RHEON™ Armor the most breathable protection on the market. You can stay cool and stay focused, even on the toughest of days. RHEON™ Armor is protection that doesn’t feel like protection at all. It is lightweight, comfortable, and cool – with no compromise on protective performance.

There are four vents on the thighs, two cargo pockets for your wallet, phone, trail map, or clip knife, and two hand pockets that are ‘handy’ when you’re off the bike. The pockets all zip closed, so you won’t lose your valuables if you bounce off the trail. The Woodsman is cut to fit outside your boot for durability and grip and has ample stretchiness for maximum mobility. Depending on your perspective, the Woodsman is a ‘touring pant you can trail-ride in' or a ‘trail-riding pant you can tour in.’

With the Woodsman, we’re breaking free from the convention that you need to wear waterproof ADV gear all the time. In most sports, the rain gear comes off when the rain stops. With ADV, many riders wear waterproof gear in every type of weather, regardless of whether it’s raining or not. Even in the desert with no chance of rain, we see ADVers in head-to-toe waterproof clothes, trying to manage their heat problems in all sorts of creative ways. With the Woodsman, you can take off your rain gear and continue your trip in stretchy, breathable, comfortable pants when the rain stops.

The Woodsman takes a hybrid approach to water management. The thighs and butt are fully waterproof with a 3-Layer Schoeller softshell, while the crotch and calves are membrane-free for maximum breathability. All the seams are taped, and the entire pant is treated with a Durable Water Repellant (DWR) coating, so light water beads up at the surface. There’s just enough water repellency for stream crossings, muddy puddles, dewy brush, and light rain without causing heat problems for the rest of the ride. We call the Woodsman a ‘90% pant,’ because 90% of the time it’s exactly what you need.

Knees yes, Hips no

I just returned from a successful COBDR and I wore the Woodsman IR OTB Pants for the duration of the ride and loved them. Prior to this I have worn both the Woodsman OTB Pant and the Woodsman Pant and the one thing I wanted was integrated knee protection, so when Mosko Moto introduced the Woodsman IR version, I jumped at them and purchased the them the morning they were released.

Big picture I love them. The fabric has what I perceive to have a softer hand and the pocket / vent design has been updated. The knee pads have two positions (high and low) and are soft and flexible. I have a 32" waist / 32" inseam and the knee pads in the upper position fit perfectly. What is off is my hip pads hang in front of my hips where my front pockets are. It's possible this is intentional, but I removed the hip pads and wore my padded shorts.

It seems off to spend this much money and have the hip pads in your front pockets, but since my padded shorts are comfortable and provide more protection, I am happy to wear them. It would be great to have the Product Line Manager (or similar position) weigh in here and let us know if the hip pad placement is intentional or if there is an updated version coming soon. For my part I will keep wearing these with the padded shorts and I find that to be a great combo.

looks like they thought about just about everything!

I recently got pointed out this amazing brand for an enduro expedition I am going on, after getting my first bags, testing and trying, i went out and bought a whole gear from them, from undergarments, pants jackets tankbag, backpack, I have it all🤪🤠 and with every day riding, I find a new fegure on my gear, where Mosko has thought things trough. details like SD cardholder on the tankbag, Phone pocket on front pouch of the backpack, pockets on pants both for riding and not riding(placed so that big things in your pockets dont hurt. Bags with straps that work and so on and so forth. Plus the customer service is great just a phone call away both in europe and US. I will surely keep riding Mosko! - Anton F from Iceland

Great quality

Love the pants! Took them on a 350 mile ride through the mountains last weekend and they felt great. The pockets are spacious, zippers work well, and the overall fit of the pant screams quality. I didn’t have any issues with the pants riding up while seated either. This is my first mosko product but will not be my last.

New fav pants for everything!!

I intended to get a ITB version, but have to settle with this OTB since the ITB is all sold out.
My previous OTB pants experince from other brands is not much good, they're tight in the knee with seperate armor/braces, OK when you are on the bike but not good at all when you're walking around camp - as they're heavy, stiff and uncomfortable.
But after experience this pants, this is my new fav pants, for camping, riding, touring and even strolling around the city. Unlike other brands, they STRETCH EVERYWHERE. Yes, even the waterproof zone stretch. Very comfortable doing everything, feels like normal pants. Now I don't have to carry spare pants every trips, as this pant will always stay on my waist. The knee zone is big enough to tight-fit my Leatt Dual Axis braces, which is for wearing outside pants. And the fit is true to size. I wear size 38 in almost all pants, and this 38 fits me perfect.
Can't belive that I'm satisfied with a OTB pants. Great job Mosko team!!

My new Go To pants

Got these pants just before doing the COBDR where we encountered all kinds of weather, 90 and sunny, cold and rainy, and some mornings close to freezing. They were awesome. ventilation zippers worked great, and I could adjust them while riding, handy pull tabs on all the pockets and vents, perfectly positioned pockets for cell phone, wallet, and leather on inner legs helped me grip the bike. I wear 32” pants and they fit perfectly without needing a belt, I wore them over the Leatt padded shorts and knee pads. The biggest thing though was the comfort—they aren’t bulky and they stretch so they’re the most comfortable riding pants I’ve ever worn. I was happy to stay in them when I got to camp, whereas my old riding pants I shed as soon as possible. So happy with my purchase and would highly recommend. The khaki colored ones even hide the dirt when you come off the bike, an unanticipated bonus.
