Basilisk Pant

Size Guide >

The Basilisk is our waterproof/breathable enduro-touring kit, for long-distance, multi-day trips through primarily off-road terrain. It combines super-premium materials with clean lines and minimalist design. With an articulated fit for freedom of motion and easy layering, the Basilisk is designed to work with separate body systems for superior protection and versatility.

The Basilisk is incredibly waterproof and incredibly breathable. The body fabric is an abrasion-resistant eVent Expedition 3-layer, using eVent’s proprietary direct venting technology. It’s waterproof to 30,000mm on the water column (100 feet of water pressure), with an MVTR of 10,000 g/m/d, .06cfm air permeability, and DWR. It’s the only waterproof moto pant with air permeability, plus it has the highest waterproof ratings of any moto pant we’ve seen.

On the knees, we added SuperFabric ceramic platelets on a 600D waterproof/breathable base, sewn as an overlay on the main body eVent for added strength. With two-layers of fabric, you can damage the outer layer and still stay dry. Our zippers are top-of-the-line water repellent YKK Vislon Aquaguard: they won’t clog with dust and grime, and they’re easy to operate one-handed with gloves.

The Basilisk is light, nimble, and breathable, with the basic pockets and vents you need and nothing else. We eliminated hanging liners entirely, reducing weight, bulk, and heat. There are two thigh pockets, two knee scoop vents, two huge thigh vents, and two exhaust vents behind the leg. In hot weather: open all the vents and the cooler outside air envelop your upper thigh.

The Basilisk pant includes a sturdy old-school leather belt for waist adjustability, which works both on and off the bike. By opening the calf expansion zippers, tall people can add an additional 2” to the inseam – increasing it from 32” to 34.” The leg openings are adjustable too, with waterproof internal gussets and overlapping Velcro flaps.

Basilisk Pant

Best fitting motorcycle pant I have ever had and amazing quality, as usual for Mosko gear. You will not be disappointed. It is much less confining than pants with built-in armor and much lighter. Gone is the annoying rubbing of the knee pad riding up and down when I bend my knees! Awesome!

Bullet Proof

I just received these new mosko basilisk pants for an upcoming ride. They have exceeded my expectations. Super durable and I can fit the easily over my large knee braces which was a concern.

Mosko Delivers

As always Mosko delivers. Fits true to size even with armor underneath, trust the sizing. Product is engineered far above other adventure type pants, it's like the designers are riders first. The amounting of venting is more than most pants, look forward to trying this in warmer months. Minus lack of of color options, I can't see a drawback to these pants.

Well done Mosko!

Coming from a mountaineering background, I am used to high quality ultralight gear, Arc’teryx being my favorite brand. I HATE heavy and bulky gear, so for me a Klim’s badland is a nightmare. But mountaineering shells and pants are not tough enough for where I ride (unpleasant vegetation with lots of spines) and my kind of riding (or poor skills, it depends). So in the end my shells and pants – including my Klim Traverse - are full of ductape…

The Basilisk pants is very well thought and very well made. It is waterproof, breathable and it vents extremely well. It is light, comfortable and not bulky considering its extreme toughness. I can now ride in the forest without being scared of everything destroying me or my apparel, and when I go down I don’t even think about it.

It has the right high quality fabrics at the right spots (superfabric is amazingly durable). And the right number and kind of features (pockets, vents etc.). And a great adjustable fit (whatever protection and layers you wear under I always feel good).

I only have 2 very little things to say :
- I think the inseam adjuster ads unnecessary bulkiness (and it weakens the pants). Offering 2 inseams would be better, and probably cheaper (at least for the customers).
- The belt is very well made and very beautiful. I love it, but I will never use it on a motorcycle trip: too big, too heavy and « single use » (which is against my minimalist mind). I use a lighter belt than can serve as a strap if needed (Patagonia Friction belt). Please sell the pants cheaper, and sell the belt separately.

Compared to the Klim Traverse, the Basilisk is nearly as light but it is WAY more durable (as durable as a Badland, for instance). And I would be a lot more confident crashing on the road in the Basilisk than in the Traverse.

I love the Basilisk kit so much I am also considering the Deluge for trips in places where waterproofness is only rarely needed, but I will wait until everything is avaiblable di...

Totally amazing kit !

Tough enough for the Dakar and even an everyday adventure 👊🏻
