We approached this elbow armor design knowing we wanted minimalist, lightweight protection that achieves the higher Level-2 CE rating. We wanted elbow sleeves that easily integrated into our kit under jackets, jerseys, and base layers, and remained comfortable for multi-day trips with long days on the bike.
Our sleeve is constructed from premium open mesh and moisture-wicking, compression-fit polyester and spandex, providing a snug fit that stays firmly in place while remaining comfortable during active riding.
Mosko Moto partnered with RHEON™ LABS for our CE-Level 2 amor inserts. RHEON™ Armor is made from a lightweight and pliable energy-absorbing superpolymer that intelligently stiffens when subjected to force. The name Phase 2, is a reference to the phase-changing capability of the armor. In its natural state, RHEON™ Armor it’s flexible and soft, but it firms up instantly to absorb energy in a crash.
RHEON™ LABS uses a patented algorithmic design and 3D printing process that produces a unique open cell packing design that allows for impact absorption, while still allowing air to naturally flow through the armor and around the rider. The end result is lightweight, comfortable, and cool armor that can be worn all day.

But what gear really is perfect?
This is why I don't hate them. I recently went down when getting crossed up in a rut, on a hard pack, two track advanced trail. I'm convinced, based on my experience that these pads definitely save my elbow and most of my forearm from significant injury. However, they came up a little short, and I did receive some pretty significant road rash around my wrist area. Not sure that any of the other brands that I've worn would have protected this area. I give five stars to the quality of materials and the construction. I'm going to ding it one star for design as the inside of the elbow does not have a relief cutout, like most other major brands do like Leatt , pictured. Although not significant, it can be a little bit of an irritant durinng the dynamic movements at the elbow joint during off- road riding. Especially in hot sweaty conditions. Based on the level of protection that was proven to me in my recent fall, I'm definitely going with these as my "go-to" elbow guards
- I've been waiting for Mosko Moto's Phase CE-2 Elbow Protection ever since I saw glimpses of the prototypes in Mosko Moto videos. I ordered them the day they became available. My Leatt Airflex Elbow Guards don't stay up when the riding gets rough and I was counting on Mosko Moto to solve that problem. The timing was perfect: Five days after I received the Phase CE-2 elbow protectors, I was wearing them on the Chattahoochee BDR-X. I rode Sections 3 and 2 in reverse on the way to the 2025 BMW National Rally; I rode Section 1 in reverse on the way home from the rally. I also rode the rally GS Ride; that's where I crashed hard on my right elbow.
- Stayed in Place: These elbow protectors stayed perfectly in place through the entire CHBDR-X and that's saying something given the rocky parts. My 11.75" Upper Arms put me at the top of the medium size. My 10.75" Forearms put me in the middle of the large size. I choose medium because a loose large on my Upper Arm might allow slipping. This resulted in a tight fit all the way along the elbow protector. I thought I might have to return them for being too tight, but after wearing them around the house, the tightness was so uniform that I stopped noticing them until it came time to take them off; I had to peel them off, turning them inside out in the process. At the rally, Mosko Moto had a manikin wearing the top part of the elbow protector over a t-shirt sleeve; this might work with a tight/compression t-shirt. I opted to wear my elbow protectors directly on my skin under the t-shirt sleeve because I didn't want the loose sleeve possibly allowing the elbow protector to slide down.
- Saved My Elbow: The rally GS ride was advertised for novices, but it had been created during dry conditions. During wet conditions at the time, there was a concreate slab with invisible algae covering the whole slab thanks to sunshine and shallow slow moving water. As I crossed the concrete slab at 20 mph, my G310GS instantly lost all traction. The bike and I crashed hard on our right sides. My right side Mosko Moto Phase CE-2 Elbow Protection hit that concrete hard with my full upper body weight and I felt nothing: No impact and no pain. I got up and had full use of my arm as I slipped around on the algae while getting my bike up (picture below). Later, when I removed that elbow protector, I found that the impact had driven the edge of the Rheon(TM) armor into my skin hard enough to cause a small "rug burn", but my elbow was otherwise in perfect condition. My thanks to Rheon Labs for making such good armor and my thanks to Mosko Moto for choosing Rheon(TM) armor for your elbow protectors.
Recently upgraded my elbow protection to the Phase CE2. Like all mosko products, the fit and finish is excellent; the material is significantly softer and more comfortable than any other brand I have tried. Padding is excellent and gives coverage around the top and bottom of elbow, opposed to just the pointy part. Worth the difference in cost versus the lower cost sleeve I have previously used.
They fit on my arms like a glove 👍🏻😎
No more irritation from the standard things they use in all jackets. With never fits right. And bonus they keep the arms cool. 👍🏻💪🏻
My first trip using the Phase CE-2 Elbow protection will be Moab May 1-3. As with all Mosko products, quality is top-tier. Very well made, comfortable, fits well under my Jerseys. They pack small as well, so easy to remove and throw in a beaver tail. IMO Mosko is Premium, and as such comes at a price. I’m not wealthy by no means, but am at a point in my life that supporting “big box” is not a high priority. Supporting Mosko Moto for premium made product that fits my lifestyle, it worth every dime! Kudos Mosko Moto!
