First Aid Kit

Contents

The Mosko Moto First Aid Kit is designed specifically for motorcycle rider use and focuses on treating bleeding, burns, and bone breakages. You can order just the empty bags and build your own kit, or with the first aid contents that are now sourced from My Medic.

DESIGN

The First Aid Kit features a 100% waterproof external 4-liter dry bag with a ripstop fabric inner bag that holds CE Certified and FDA Approved first aid kit items. The design matches our existing Auxiliary Pockets, so it can be slid into a 5L or 4L Aux Pox holster or attached with Molle Stix or Moto Straps (purchased separately). The First Aid Kit can be ordered empty with just the bags or with contents sourced from My Medic.

FEATURES

Featuring a bright red color and first aid cross graphic for fast recognition by anyone in your riding group in emergencies, this kit works with our Backcountry Panniers, Duffles, Reckless Bags, or any mounting point with Molle attachments.

Consider carrying this kit on your bike to help you self-treat your injuries and ensure first aid supplies are quickly at hand for others to help you if necessary. Consider everyone in your group carrying their own First Aid Kit to service their own needs.

Neat and Tidy, Inside and Out— Bulky

Love that it integrates so nicely with the reckless system in looks and mounting/storing methods. Once attached it really feels a part of the kit. I purchased this kit with the first aid materials and it’s seems pretty comprehensive to me but I can’t speak to its value as I’ve yet to be in a “situation”.

The only downside I can see is this first aid option, while durable, weatherproof and highly noteable to anyone, is the space it takes on the outside of the luggage. It’s a pretty bulky piece of kit but I’m sure I’d find it worth it one day.

Regardless, I’ll continue to run this as a “just in case”. If anyone runs a stock T7 muffler on their 40/80L Reckless, probably put the heat shield on because it hangs pretty close and might possibly make contact if laid down in just the right way.

Thanks Mosko Teams! Very happy with things :)

Good quality, lots of space

The waterproof bag feels high quality. The attachment points on the back are nice and sturdy. The interior bag has a hard shell to prevent medical items from being crushed, and also has a decent amount of space. I am able to fit a SAM splint inside along with shears gauze and other odds and ends no problem. I really have no major complaints about the build quality and function. It has a very large capacity with rugged build quality and is waterproof, which comes at a cost of weight.

My only complaint is minor and a bit nitpicky, but I thought I would throw it in here anyways. The first aid cross symbols on the side are a bit too close to the top, and because you must fold down the top and then buckle it, the first aid cross gets folded and creased, making it a tad less pleasing to the eye. Aesthetically, it would be nicer if the cross was shifted lower by an inch or so in order for it to be on the nice and smooth section.

First Aid Kit from Mosko Moto

I added the Mosko Moto First Aid kit to my Pannier system and am really pleased! I am an ER Doc, and have built out fairly extensive medical kits for my bikes to provide volunteer medical coverage on events like Gran Fondos, Triathlons and Obstacle Adventure Courses. That’s a bit more extensive of a set-up, but… I’ve dabbled in just about every type of kit on the market to find the perfect, all-weather option! I bought the Mosko Moto kit to bring along for the every day ride, mostly because I wanted the case and bright red dry bag. I thought I’d gut it and fill it out with my own stuff. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and the thoughtfulness of the contents, and so far I’m running it stock. I’m sure I’ll tinker a bit more over time. I will still sometimes need to pack a bit more (e.g. AED, cardiac drug kit, advanced airway stuff)… but this kit is a fantastic addition and now a full time companion on my rides.

Great Kit - Work for the basic needs

It fits perfectly in the Aux Pox - or on my GSA in-between the bag and help pad - just above the exhaust with two blue Mosko straps...I contents of any of these kits can be debated - but for the average person this is a solid kit. Well done!!!

Assembly required, and frustrations probable

I knew I wanted this First Aid Kit when Mosko initially announced it was coming. I'd been carrying an Adventure Medical Kits Mountain Guide kit, but it was big and bulky and took up a fair amount of space in either the R40 or the R80 dry bags.

The Mosko kit is designed for carrying on a motorcycle, while the Adventure Medical kit is not. The quality of the first aid kit items is a bit below the Adventure Medical stuff, but it should still do the job. I do like that it includes a SAM splint and tourniquet, as well as the other items in the list. Like Mosko says, this kit and its parts are designed for potential motorcycle usage and injuries.

You will have to assemble all the parts. The first aid items come individually packaged, and you'll need to open those packages and arrange the items in the bag. In particular, the Emergency Trauma Bag is vacuum packed, and it was deformed to the point that it takes up more space than it should. Took me a few tries to arrange everything so that the bag would close AND the bag would fit into the dry bag. It's a tight fit!!

Another reviewer mentioned using talc to get the bag to go inside the dry bag, which sounds like a good idea. I think with time it will slide easier.

There are multiple carrying options available, but for now I've found it easiest to just add it under the beavertail next to the Stinger tail bag. There's enough "red" dry bag exposed to hopefully clue someone in to the fact that there's a first aid kit readily available, should that need ever arise.

To sum up, I'm glad I purchased this first aid kit, and would do so again.
