Kristen Chandler

Apparel Developer

I was never satisfied with what was out there for my own duds. I’d bring fabrics and patterns home and turn them into exactly what I wanted. That instinct to create, improve, and make things work for the person wearing them led me to apparel design school, where I discovered my passion for recreational and outdoor apparel.

For me, performance starts with function—but function only works when the product fits. After college, I interned in Product Development at REI, where I worked across the full apparel system, from silk base layers to Gore-Tex® shells, and everything in between, making sure all the layers worked together. I got to work in tents, packs, and sleeping bags too. From there, I had the opportunity to work with brands including Marmot, H/H, other ski brands, CMH Heli-Skiing, Redington/SAGE, and Grundéns.
My time in the fishing industry taught me the importance of being where the customer is. I watched, listened, asked questions, and worked alongside people in harsh environments to understand what they truly needed from their gear. That hands-on approach helped us create award-winning wading products.
My husband, our three kids, and I have always been deeply rooted in the outdoors. We’re avid sailors, and I’m excited to be back in the Gorge.
The right materials, trims, construction, and—most importantly—fit are what make a product perform. Now I’m excited to bring that mindset to the moto world: a community of adventurous, passionate people who push themselves, their gear, and the boundaries of where they can go.
I’m excited to join a team with this much energy and passion, bring everything I’ve learned, and help make great product.
