Tough gear for rough terrain

Waterproof, extremely durable and comfortable. Together with my Basilisk pants these are my most important clothes on a tour.

Basilisk jacket

I did not get wet yet so i don't know how waterproof it is. When it comes to fit it's really for modern people who are either skinny or fat, is not too great for atletic figure. I would love to have something to hold the top of the jacket open in hot weather. It's great to sinch the neck but it would be much better to do it somewhere on the side and not in the back ...

Perfect Jacket for what I want it.

I love this jacket. I searched for a tight fitment with space for my thinner protector-vest. I am 1.82m and about 83kilo and I choose the size M. For me ist long enough, also at arms and wide enough for layering under. The material, waterproof and airflow when vents open is state of the art. Also that the vent zipper at arms are closed when you push them away from body is genius…. Much easier than the other direction.

To small and werry stiff.

The size did not fit with external protection jacket. Size up one step if you use protection jacket. Leatt 5.5. Wery stift material. The left chestpocket opends from wrong side.

Qualité des matériaux impeccable, coupe et taille parfaite, très esthétique mais au regard du prix et de son usage en voyage, on aurait aimé une poche interne.

The Basilisk Jacket gets further refinements as it takes on a true 2.0 redesign as our waterproof/breathable enduro-touring kit for long-distance, multi-day trips through primarily off-road terrain. It combines high-performance materials with clean lines and minimalist design. With an articulated fit for freedom of motion and easy layering, the Basilisk is designed to work with separate armor systems for superior protection and better versatility. It packs smaller than a traditional ADV jacket for stashing on your bike when things get hot.

The Basilisk is incredibly waterproof and incredibly breathable. The body fabric is a highly abrasion-resistant eVent Expedition 3-layer, using eVent's proprietary Direct Venting™ technology. Heat and water vapor move directly through the air permeable membrane, allowing your body to breathe freely and stay comfortable. With a 30,000mm on the water column (100 feet of water pressure), with an MVTR of 10,000 g/m/d, .06cfm air permeability, and DWR to keep you dry in wet conditions. It's the only air permeable riding jacket we have come across and it has the highest waterproof ratings we've ever seen. To improve the Basilisk 2.0’s ability to shed water, we added storm flaps to all external zippers. In high abrasion areas like the shoulders, back, and elbows, we added Super Fabric® ceramic platelets on a 600D waterproof/breathable overlay for added strength. With double-layer fabric, you can crash repeatedly and still stay dry. Our zippers are top-of-the-line water repellent YKK Vislon Aquaguard: they won't clog with dust and grime, and they're easy to operate one-handed with gloves. There are two external hand pockets and two chest pockets. (One external, one internal), with six substantial vents placed strategically for maximum airflow. On the inside we eliminated hanging liners entirely, reducing weight, bulk, and heat. In high abrasion areas like the shoulders and elbows, laminated patches protect the tricot lining.

The Basilisk jacket is designed to work with separate body armor for extended enduro-touring trips. This not only offers better protection but also makes it a more versatile jacket across the wide range of conditions you experience on extended trips. If you've never used separate body armor, here are the reasons we love it:

-  Temperature Management: Riding hard in a hot climate with separate armor, you can remove your jacket without losing your protection. On a hot day riding offroad in the desert, taking your jacket off is a game-changer. This is particularly valuable when moving slower through challenging terrain where air flow is limited.

-  Impact Protection: Separate armor has better coverage, and holds the pads closer to your body, so they're exactly where they need to be in a crash. Armor pads suspended loosely in the hanging liner of a motorcycle jacket are insufficient for riding off-road where crashes are more common.

The jacket that accomplishes its mission with the least features, is best. That's the Basilisk. It's light, nimble, waterproof and breathable, with only the pockets and vents you need and nothing else.
