Backcountry Brush Guards are like skid plates for your panniers. From sagebrush to sticks, and the occasional gravel slide, the fronts of your bags see a ton of abuse off-road. Constructed from 1680D ballistic nylon, with foam padding and a Hypalon abrasion layer, these Brush Guards will extend the life of your Backcountry Panniers.
Integrated webbing pass-throughs protect the front compression straps, and reinforced side overlaps prevent branches from catching on the beavertails. Designed to work with or without a front Auxiliary Pocket, Brush Guards can be mounted on any aux-pocket-compatible Backcountry Panniers. One size fits all.

I had been looking for a flexible solution that wasn’t too big but big enough for my needs. My riding generally consist of point to point across various terrains but staying in accommodation at night. Something that keeps those essentials handy, secure and dry. The Gnome delivers the flexibility I needed in a robust secure package with the added benefit of having easy access to water.
The fixing straps provided the options I needed to attach the bag seamlessly integrating well with my tank whilst still providing access to the fuel filler cap.
A high quality flexible product that met my requirements well.
I bought the brush guards after getting a branch caught in the beaver tail of my bags and ripping it off. As always, Mosko stands behind their products, and they worked with me to get a replacement bag at a discount. Not wanting a repeat, I decided to buy the brush guards this time. The brush guards prevent that from happening. The install was a bit of a challenge as I wanted to retain my aux pox on the bags, and the screws are pretty short for this. If you do the same, I recommend a t-handle torx. This made it much easier. I went for a ride on a narrow trail, scrapped several bushes, and no issues with anything being caught. I’m used to top quality products from Mosko and the brush guards are on par with their other products. My only recommendation would be an option for longer screws for the t-nuts if keeping the aux pox and brush guards together.
I put these on my new 35L panniers on my 690 and they held up flawlessly on the Outback racks in four crashes. Nothing too fast, but decent crashes. Typical scratches but otherwise bulletproof.
Bought the Nomax Tank Bag and the 35L Panniers. Everything is extremely well made and functions great. Jenn and Amy provided great technical support.
