Mosko saved the day!

After having our car broken into in eureka, ca and finding that the only thing they stole was our nomad tank bags. We called mosko and talked with Jen and she was as much help as possible. She was able to send two tank bags 2 day air to Cameron park where we started our motorcycle trip to Baja. Very helpful and understanding of our situation. Thank you so much we will be posting pics of our adventure with all of our mosko gear. Cheer Jen bags were received and we are on our way. Maybe see you at the shop sometime if we ever come back from Baja. Haha!

Great gear

Overall very satisfied with this gear. Super durable, definitely water proof, extremely light and vey well ventilated. My dirt bike boots don't fit under these (Forma Predator) but my ADV boots do, which is OK I suppose. A bit of a low rise fit, so I wear them on the larger size to add the room in the crotch area needed. Zippers definitely need a little loving, a small amount of silicone spray goes a long way. If you are on the fence, jump off and buy these, you definitely wont be disappointed. Only wish would be that they were made in the USA.

10/2/21 update: Customer Service to the Moon!

10/2/21 Update to my 9/9/21 review: Mosko Moto trumps all! I sent my pants in for repair of a tear in the protective leather running along the lower leg. I was stunned when I received a brand new pair of Basilisk pants. Way to go MM - from a dedicated MM fan! Thank you for amazing customer service. Appreciatively, Mary

9/9/21 review #1: I purchased these pants several months ago in preparation for a trip to Colorado to ride parts of the BDR. I wanted well vented pants that also were waterproof so that I didn't have to deal with putting on rain gear if I encountered afternoon rain.

Sizing: These are definitely NOT cut for women - but after trying several sizes, I settled on a size 32. While a bit larger, I found the cut of the crotch is a bit odd (meaning tight when you sit down); so for comfort went up 1 size.

Venting: I used these pants for 4 days straight. Even when hot, the venting on these pants performed great!

Problem: On day 3, I noticed that the Mosko logo that runs along the upper left thigh was beginning to peel off the pants. I contacted Mosko upon returning from my trip and was offered a 10% refund. I was told that this was a known issue with delamination attributed to rushed production. Huh - had I known that in advance, I'd have skipped this purchase.

Other: Perhaps unrelated, I also noticed a tear in the leather that lines the inner lower leg (cuff to knee). Not sure when or how that happened but contacted Mosko again. After waiting a week with no response, I wrote again. The following week I got a response and was told that I could return the pants to be repaired.

I have a number of Mosko products - a larger luggage set, as well as the Reckless 40L and up until now, have really admired the products, design, construction & overall quality.

As of this writing though, I have mixed feelings. While I really like the pants however its super disappointing to spend $500 on pants that have a peeling logo the first week of use, which I was told, is a known problem w/ delimitation and was caused by rushed production. These should have been discounted to begin with (other manufacturer's sell these sorts of items as seconds). If not discounted, then a warning provided in advance of the purchase would have been another option.

Good pants but the quality doesn't warrant a $500 price tag.

Well built, versatile pants

These pants are expensive, and they are worth it. I've had them out in pretty varied summer weather conditions so far and the ventilation keeps them comfortable even in temperatures over 30°C, which surprised me. I haven't had them out in cold or very wet weather yet, but I have no doubt they'll perform well with appropriate layering underneath.

The sizing chart was a bit confusing to be honest, trying to reconcile hip and waist measurements, but I wear a 30" waist/30" inseam in Levi's and went with a small which turned out to fit perfectly. If it's helpful to anyone trying to figure out size, I'm about 5'7" and 155lbs.

Manufacturing quality and design are exactly what I've come to expect from Mosko, which is to say outstanding. I'm confident these will last many years.

Basilisk Pant 2020 - Size 34T

Size Guide >

Refined for our second production round, the Basilisk is our waterproof/breathable enduro-touring kit, for long-distance, multi-day trips through primarily off-road terrain. It combines super-premium materials with clean lines and minimalist design. With an articulated fit for freedom of motion and easy layering, the Basilisk is designed to work with separate armor systems for superior protection and versatility.

The Basilisk is both incredibly waterproof and incredibly breathable. The body fabric is an abrasion-resistant eVent Expedition 3-layer, using eVent’s proprietary Direct Venting™ technology. It’s waterproof to 30,000mm on the water column (100 feet of water pressure), with an MVTR of 10,000 g/m/d, .06cfm air permeability, and DWR. It’s the only waterproof moto pant with air permeability, plus it has the highest waterproof ratings of any moto pant we’ve seen.

On the knees, we added SuperFabric® ceramic platelets on a 600D waterproof/breathable base, sewn as an overlay on the main body eVent for added strength. With two-layers of fabric, you can damage the outer layer and still stay dry. Our zippers are top-of-the-line waterproof YKK VISLON® AquaGuard®: they won’t clog with dust and grime, and they’re easy to operate one-handed with gloves.

The Basilisk is light, nimble, and breathable, with the basic pockets and vents you need and nothing else. We eliminated hanging liners entirely, reducing weight, bulk, and heat. There are two thigh pockets, two knee scoop vents, two huge thigh vents, and two exhaust vents behind the leg. In hot weather: open all the vents and the cooler outside air envelop your upper thigh.

The Basilisk pant includes a sturdy old-school leather belt for waist adjustability, which works both on and off the bike. The leg openings are adjustable too, with waterproof internal gussets and overlapping velcro flaps.
