Clearly created and built by riders

So often I wonder if the makers of a product have actually used it. Never with these guys. I ride a gs now but come from mx many decades ago, virtually all adventure pants have way too much material that gets in the way and adds nothing - the woodsman look great, each aspect is very functional and well thought out, and not just an Mx pant in disguise. Thank you!

Excellent Pants

I am loving these Woodsman Enduro pants. Tough enough for some gnarly single track abuse, yet light, breathable, and easy to move in. Excellent product!

Nice pant!

While they *might* make my butt look big, because I’m probably the smallest guy that should be in a 38, they were really comfortable on a 200 mile loop 1/2 dirt and 1/2 pavement at over 90 degrees. Can’t wait to run them thru a longer ride.

I will be taking them somewhere to have them shortened, they are a little over long and it took some care to avoid fabric bunching up inside my sidi crossfires.

Great pants for an Irish summer.

I’ve been waiting for these to come into stock for a lonnng time, and now that they have there’s a new colour way called Obsidian (which I’d describe as dark grey and black) which I ordered - I think it fits in better with the rest of my gear, and my bike, if these kind of things matter to you. The pants (or pant in US) fit really well for me (36R, in the boot) and are the most comfortable bike pants I’ve ever had, I guess due to the elasticity. There’s also good contact feel with the bike through the seat, thighs and knees - no slipping around either. Plenty of room for my armour underneath. In Ireland, summers are cool and frequently wet. I went for a two day ride where the weather ranged from 12-18 centigrade, with periods of Misty rain, heavier rain showers, and some sunny intervals. The pants were perfect for this, keeping me totally dry (including sitting on a wet seat), and drying off quickly too. And they’re very effective wind blockers (I didn’t use the vents!). Finally, they didn’t look out of place with some shoes, in the hotel stopover. All in all, even better than I’d expected.

Woodsman Enduro Pant

Size Guide >

*Have you seen the new Woodsman OTB (Over-The Boot) yet?

The Woodsman is a technical softshell pant for enduro riding. It’s just as at home on tight Northwest woods singletrack as it is in the open desert or on extended ADV trips. The hybrid design puts a Schoeller waterproof/breathable material on the knees and seat for protection from wet brush, wet seats, and water crossings, while the DWR coated nylon oxford upper provides excellent breathability.

There are four vents on the thighs, two cargo pockets for your wallet, phone, trail map, or clip knife, and two hand pockets that are ‘handy’ when you’re off the bike. The pockets all zip closed, so you won’t lose your valuables if you bounce off the trail. The Woodsman is cut to fit inside your boot for durability and grip, and has ample stretchiness for maximum mobility. It’s either a ‘touring pant you can trail-ride in,’ or a ‘trail-riding pant you can tour in,’ depending on your perspective.

The Woodsman takes design inspiration from ski touring and alpine gear. The first thing you’ll notice is that it’s ‘stretchy.’ Not just in a few small panels, but everywhere. To complement the stretchiness, we articulated the patterns for athletic riding, and for alternating between a seated and standing riding position. The Woodsman pants are so comfortable that you might not want to take them off when you’re done riding. Minimalists can use the Woodsman as their only pair of pants on a multi-day trip.

They work on the bike and off, around the fire, or even out for a beer. Dust and dirt are the only things that will give them away them as riding pants. The Woodsman’s in-boot design allows you to grip the bike directly with your boot – without pinching fabric in the middle – which is how the bike-makers and boot-makers intended it. That’s why you rarely see off-road racers in over-the-boot pants. Unlike most in-boot pants however, the Woodsman has a full-length inseam, so you won’t get that ‘moto-capri’ look when your boots come off.

With the Woodsman, we’re breaking free from the convention that you need to wear waterproof ADV gear all the time. In most sports, when the rain stops the rain gear comes off. With ADV, many riders wear waterproof gear in every type of weather regardless of whether it’s raining or not. Even in the desert with no chance of rain, we see ADVers in head-to-toe waterproof clothes, trying to manage their heat problems in all sorts of creative ways. With the Woodsman, when the rain stops you can take off your rain gear and continue your trip in a stretchy, more breathable, more comfortable pant.

The Woodsman takes a ‘hybrid’ approach to water management. The thighs and butt are fully waterproof with a 3-Layer Schoeller softshell, while the crotch and calves are membrane-free for maximum breathability. All the seams are taped, and the entire pant is treated with a Durable Water Repellant (DWR) coating, so light water beads up at the surface. There’s just enough water repellency for stream crossings, muddy puddles, dewy brush, and light rain, without causing heat problems on the rest of the ride.

We call the Woodsman a ‘90% pant,’ because 90% of the time it’s exactly what you need. In full-frontal rain, the Woodsman pairs with a packable over-the-boot rain layer like the Rak Overpant
