The light at the end of the tunnel

I spent time searching for the "perfect" jacket: light, resistant, waterproof and breathable, volume of packing, comfort, casual enough to be weared w/out the need of another jacket while not on the bike. Here you have it: if you need an all-round jacket that makes you forget about the rest... no doubts, you got it.

I gave the Rak a 5 cause I just can't find an arguable downside. I am 6 foot 205. Older guy so not a cut shapely young man. I wear an older acerbis pressure suit. I did eliminate the shoulder pads on the pressure suit as I do have wide and thick shoulders and shoulder pads on anything don't work for me. I have the extra large and it fits perfectly. I like the ability to layer with this. In South Dakota and Temps are a bit wild and windy. The Rak cuts the wind. At 50 to 60 really all I need is thin thermal layer a jersey and the Rak turn on the heated grips and I'm good. 35 to 50 degrees I need another thin layer. Ride an africa twin for the big bike and a KTM 525 for dirty stuff.
Really like the movement allowed by the Rak and the absence of a bulky jacket. MOSKO nailed it with this design. Easy to get on and off even with a pressure suit. No question I made the right choice on a new jacket.

The Rak Pullover is another exercise in our “less is more” approach to ADV. Our thinking remains that the jacket that accomplishes its mission with the least features, is best. Less to break, less to go wrong, less places for water to get in, and therefore more functional. The result is a lighter, nimbler, and more breathable shell. It strikes a perfect balance between the Deluge’s ultralight packability and the Basilisk’s rugged durability, all with a clean, minimalist silhouette. The Rak – which comes from ‘Anorak’ - is the ultimate in simplicity. It keeps you dry in all-day driving rain, it packs away small when it’s not in use, and it’s built to last.

We wanted a light, durable, waterproof 3-layer outer shell that’s ‘too simple to fail.’ We wanted it to be just as waterproof in the third year of an RTW trip as it was on day one. This quest led us to offshore sailing, ocean paddling, and mountaineering jackets, and then eventually to anoraks, which offer the ultimate in water and wind resistance. On a bike – especially an enduro without a windscreen – we take all the wind and water straight to the face. When you’re riding into a firehose, every ridge, wrinkle, zipper, pocket, and seam is a source of weakness. We stripped away as many of those as possible in the Rak, while still preserving the core functionality we need both on and off the bike (like hand pockets, for example).

The Rak features a pullover anorak-style entry with quarter zip design, two hand pockets, one chest pocket, adjustable Velcro cuffs, and Cohaesive® embedded cord-locks at the hem and collar to help seal out the weather. The 3L eVent waterproof breathable material keeps you dry and comfortable with Direct Venting™ technology. For the ultimate in airflow and venting, take off the Rak, roll it up, and stash it on the back of the bike. It packs tiny, and features a lashing loop on the upper back so you can strap it directly to your bike or luggage when it’s not in use.
