Short lived

I purchased for obvious reasons and they were on sale. Win win. However when I received them I was a bit disappointed in the color. They looked more green than tan as in the pictures. Regardless they were well constructed and felt amazing. The waist dimension (34) was a little big despite the button snuggers, had belt loops though. If and when a new colorway arrive, I’ll purchase again maybe sized down, maybe not. Until then, I had to send them back.

Perfect Fit

These fit perfectly. They fit nicely over my riding pants without being restrictive and the length is perfect as well. They even help to keep me warm on those chilly mornings. I am 5'11, 180Lbs. I have a 34 waist so I ordered the 34 as instructed.

Rak Overpant

Really like the pants, I wish they came in a Short inseam length size also. They fit great everywhere but leg length. Not your fault I am just short in that area. Wish I could tailor them. Thanks Stan

They actually keep the rain out, but they're too short

I replaced a set of Olympia rain pants with the Rak overpants and they're fantastic. My main complaint about any rain paint is that your knees always soak through and your crotch always soaks through. Both of these situations aren't an issue with the Rak pants. However, they are a tad too short, so I have to wear gaiters to keep the bottoms of my pants dry. They will also soak through in 4 hours of driving rain, but I'm not entirely sure anything will withstand that given my goretex jacket did as well. They need a little more length to keep your pants dry in any rain.

Rak Overpant - 2021

Size
Size Guide >

The Rak Overpant adds rugged weather protection to any backcountry riding kit. Motorcycling is the only sport we know of where people wear rain gear even when it’s not wet, despite the obvious heat and comfort challenges that presents. With the Rak Overpant you can tour in whichever non-waterproof riding pant you choose, and still have total confidence in foul weather. Full-length side zips allow you to easily throw the Rak over moto boots, while double layer reinforcements in the knees and seat add durability in high wear areas. Combine the Rak with the Woodsman (or any comfortable trail pant) for a durable layering system in every kind of weather.

The best way to expand the bookends of tolerable riding conditions is through layering. An RTW touring kit should be comfortable in blistering desert heat, and also freezing rain and snowy passes, because you’ll probably encounter all of that. Side-zip moto overpants have always existed (mostly for commuters), but for us the idea actually started with backcountry hunting gear. Backcountry hunters don’t like waterproof pants because they’re noisy, so when the rain stops, their rain pants come off. That same concept applies to offroad and ADV, except for us the issue is comfort rather than noise. When it’s not raining – like in the desert for example - why are we still wearing waterproof gear? With the Rak Overpant you can choose whatever all-day riding pant you want – whether mesh, soft shell, or a classic dirt bike pant, in-boot or over-boot – and still have reliable protection in rain or snow.

The Rak Overpant features a durable 3-layer nylon eVent DV Expedition shell fabric for the pinnacle of waterproof/breathable and windproof protection. Watertight, full length YKK VISLON® AquaGuard® zippers keep water out, while making the Rak super easy to get on over moto boots. There’s a single zippered cargo pocket on the thigh, to keep your necessities close at hand when you’re off the bike, and belt loops to keep your pants up (check out our Autotomous Belt).

*model is 6ft tall, 175lbs, and wearing a size 32 pant.
