When you’re traveling through several days of continual, driving rain, an old ADV trick is to layer two completely waterproof garments: one on the outside to break the water’s speed and momentum (the Deluge overpant), and one on the inside (your main ADV suit) to complete the seal.
The Deluge also works great as an ‘Oh Sh*t’ overpant for your dirt bike. It packs small enough to live full-time in a backpack or tailbag: it’s so small and light that you’ll forget it’s there until you need it. It has a hanging inside stuff pocket, and expandable leg openings to easily fit over your moto boots. It’s reinforced with heavy duty eVent Expedition fabric around the calf and knee, to protect against friction and heat.
What distinguishes the Deluge from the thousands of cheapo rain suits available in every sporting goods store? It's all in the materials. The Deluge’s main body is an eVent Apline 3-Layer fabric with direct-venting, rated at 20,000mm on the water column (67 feet of pressure), 20,000 g/m/d MVTR, and 0.1cfm air permeability. When you put it on, you’ll feel the difference.
Great Pant in my first rain storm..., wish the pant had leg closure to keep it up on my boot so I don’t walk on it... this is a must have!!
These things are great. Impressed with the fit and finish and the details. The self stuff sack really works. Planning to ride in the Southeast this week. That means rain, rain, and some more rain. I expect to stay dry looking at the seam tape. Great job everyone!
