Sizing

Go to the website biographies and take a look at these people. They are all built like cross-country running Auschwitz survivors and their clothing is sized accordingly. The closest one to having anything that resembles a bicep is a very fit lady. Don't be fooled by the clothing models' statistics while wearing armour. This clothing is sized for skinny people with long limbs.

I just got size 34 normal Basilisk pants. There's a reason why a strong belt is included. It's too keep these pants on the noassatall people. Definitely not built for sprinters or anyone with thighs and/or hips/ass.

Had to return a size L Basilisk jacket and super-size up to XL. The XL would fit great is I were an orangutan. The L fit well but still a bit constricting with no armour. If you actually have shoulders, biceps, chest and/or gut then go with a bigger size than what's recommend.

Don't interpret this as a negative review. It's not. The gear is great, just sized more for Europeans than very handsome Americans.

Basilisk Jacket and Pants

I am very happy with my Basilisk jacket and pants, and particularly like the layering system, giving me better protection using dedicated armour. I have had to remove my jacket in hot humid conditions and store on the bike and it has really helped with fatigue.
The gear has already stood up to a couple of crashes off road.
The Mosko team were great to deal with. I am in Australia and had many questions about sizing before I purchased.
The only downside is that I could use a size 35 in the pants, the 36 is way too big, the 34 fits but I could use the adjustability of the extra space.
What is the little pin inside the blue zip pull for?
Great gear, would definitely recommend.

First impression

I've thought about it for too long. The fit is perfect for me. I am 172cm and have an M. I also have enough freedom of movement with the protectors. The material makes a great insulation but no sweating. I was only able to test the jacket in winter; so far it has been absolutely great.

Basilisk Jacket

Size Guide >

Refined for our second round of production, the Basilisk is our waterproof/breathable enduro-touring kit, for long-distance, multi-day trips through primarily off-road terrain. It combines super-premium materials with clean lines and minimalist design. With an articulated fit for freedom of motion and easy layering, the Basilisk is designed to work with separate armor systems for superior protection and versatility. It packs smaller than a traditional ADV jacket, for stashing on your bike when things get hot.

The Basilisk is incredibly waterproof and incredibly breathable. The body fabric is a highly abrasion-resistant eVent Expedition 3-layer, using eVent's proprietary direct venting technology. It's waterproof to 30,000mm on the water column (100 feet of water pressure), with an MVTR of 10,000 g/m/d, .06cfm air permeability, and DWR. It's the only waterproof moto jacket on the market that also has air permeability, plus it has the highest waterproof ratings of any moto jacket we've ever seen.

In high abrasion areas like the shoulders, back, and elbows, we added SuperFabric ceramic platelets on a 600D waterproof/breathable base, sewn as an overlay on the main body eVent for added strength. With double-layer fabric, you can crash repeatedly and still stay dry. Our zippers are top-of-the-line water repellent YKK Vislon Aquaguard: they won't clog with dust and grime, and they're easy to operate one-handed with gloves.

The Basilisk jacket is our full-throated endorsement of separate body armor for extended enduro-touring trips, where integrated armor is a pain. If you've never used separate body armor, here are the reasons we love it:

  • Temperature Management: Riding hard in a hot climate with separate armor, you can remove your jacket without losing your protection. On a hot day riding offroad in the desert, taking your jacket off is a game-changer.
  • Impact Protection: Separate armor has better coverage, and holds the pads closer to your body, so they're exactly where they need to be in a crash. Armor pads suspended loosely in the hanging liner of a motorcycle jacket are insufficient for riding off-road.

The jacket that accomplishes its mission with the least features, is best. That's the Basilisk. It's light, nimble, and breathable, with the basic pockets and vents you need and nothing else. We eliminated hanging liners entirely, reducing weight, bulk, and heat. There are two external and two internal pockets, with six substantial vents placed strategically for maximum airflow.
